1924 Routes of the IRT, New York

A classic map from 1924 showing the routes of the Interborough Rapid Transit Company, or IRT, one of the precursors of today’s modern New York subway system. Like many New York maps of this vintage, north is to the right. The map shows subways in red and elevated railroads in blue. This map required a lot of dirt/scuff cleaning and cloning. Copyright-free image sourced from the Library of Congress.

Available in two image sizes: 37.5″ wide by 22″ high (with a 1″ white margin on each side); and 23″ wide by 13.3″ high (with a 0.5″ white margin on each side).

Each poster is printed on-demand using fully archival, UltraChrome inks on Moab Lasal Matte, a beautiful, brilliant white, 230gsm (11 mil) alpha cellulose paper which is acid- and lignin-free. Each print is carefully inspected, wrapped in pH-neutral paper, then rolled and placed in a sturdy double-wall tube with metal endcaps for shipping.
